The Sudanese Council of Partners announces the completion of the Sovereignty Council tomorrow and the formation of the government next week

The Transitional Council of Partners in Sudan announced the completion of the formation of the Sovereignty Council tomorrow with the addition of new members, and the formation of the government early next week. Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan, chaired today, Wednesday, a meeting of the Transitional Partners Council with its full membership.

In a press statement, Dr. Maryam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, the council’s spokesperson, said that the council has paid attention to the need to work to alleviate the great suffering in living from the people’s shoulders, to secure a favorable atmosphere for the beginning of the school year and to provide health services for the Corona pandemic and endemic diseases. On Thursday, the Sovereignty Council will be completed by adding the members named from the parties to the peace process under the Juba Peace Agreement, pointing out that the Council reviewed the serious efforts that have been made to submit nominations to the Executive Government.

She explained that the nominations for all male and female candidates have been completed in all 25 ministries, except for one ministry from the ministries of the parties to the peace process, which was allocated to the three tracks (East, Center, and North) which were postponed until the completion of the consultation, and indicated that the submission of candidate lists has been completed. Today, from all parties, the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, is to select a team of ministers, who work with him from figures with capabilities to achieve a government that reflects the experiences and wealth of the Sudanese people, and their regional, age, gender and political diversity, to announce the government early next week.

She explained that the Council discussed the importance of giving thanks to the ministers in the current government, who worked hard in extremely complex circumstances while ensuring the procedures for handover and delivery between the departing ministers and the new ministers in a step that reflects the awareness of the Sudanese people's revolution.

Dr. Maryam Al-Sadiq said that all are soldiers to serve the nation, and that constitutional positions are a guerrilla act and a national mandate, based on transparency and accountability, not an honor to reap personal or partisan spoils, and according to which the administrative transition takes place in a smooth and solid way.
