Egyptians prefer to study in Germany .. Statistics reveals the most prominent countries that grant scientific degrees



Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed that the percentage of delegates abroad on scientific missions to Germany increased from 19.7% in 2016 to 30.8% in 2019, and the percentage of delegates to the United States of America decreased to 19.2% in 2019, compared to 36.2% in 2018.

 

The statistics agency attributed the retreat of the delegates to the United States to the spread of the Corona virus, which led to a large number of students feeling insecure after the decision taken by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency in July 2019, and quickly retracted it, as it stipulated the possibility of canceling visas. Foreign students whose academic curricula have been switched to online education, which increased the feeling of Egyptians that they are not welcome and made them think of returning to Egypt.

 

The total number of delegates abroad for scientific missions is estimated to be 3 thousand and 544 delegates, including 1154 delegates, representing 32.6% of the Medical Sciences group, 790 delegates representing 22.3% of the Engineering Sciences group, 715 delegates, 20.2% of the basic sciences group, 491 delegates representing 13.9% of the Human Sciences group and 394 delegates representing 11.1% of the agricultural sciences group.

 

The numerical distribution of delegates abroad on scientific missions to the European group refers to 1583 delegates by 44.7%, 812 delegates by 22.9% to the group of American states, 1052 delegates by 29.7% to the group of "non-Arab" Asian countries, 72 delegates by 2% to the group of "non-Arab" Asian countries, and 16 Delegates by 0.5% to the group of Arab countries, and 9 delegates to the group of "non-Arab" African countries, by 0.3%.
